Recently I’ve had a pleasure to create another T-shirt design for my befriended fan club BLS Polish Chapter. These guys are normal (ah, well, what’s considered “normal” these days?) hard-working people and have families but privately have a few hobbies, one of these is metal music.
The idea was to create something like a tribute, a crest, a bit patriotic maybe, but a bit blasphemous on the other hand – and in general, nicely presenting three iconic metal guitarists.
Chosen ones were Tony Iommi…
…Zakk Wylde…
…and Pantera guitarist Dimibag Darrell.
Inspiration and the base the was Polish coat of arms for January Uprising in 1863, called also Rzeczpospolita Trojga Narodów. The design here is by Surge Polonia, manufacturer of patriotic clothing.

Images were prepared in Photoshop for vectorisation and later fine-tuned in Illustrator. Next step was to “metallise” the design by replacing original symbols of nations by guitarists (oh, forgive me all great people, this was all in good faith!) and adding a bit of text around (and I’m not a Satanist if anybody is puzzled and have a deep respect to all 20,000 people who gave their lives for Polish-Lithuanian-Ruthenian Commonwealth and thousands more were jailed or sent to Siberia and their lands were confiscated), look at this as a crazy fun, not anything intentionally lowering importance of otherwise a serious subject.
